When using an in-network provider like Astorino Eye Center, EyeMed Vision Care covers a substantial portion of the cost of eye exams, glasses and contact lenses.
With EyeMed Vision Care you don’t have to settle when it comes to choosing frames and optical lenses. EyeMed members can select from any available frame, including brands and styles for every lifestyle. According to the EyeMed website, members can save as much as 73% on an eye exam and glasses (compared to the cost without vision coverage).
What's the copay for EyeMed?
EyeMed copays vary based on the plan you have. Typically, EyeMed has a $10-$20 copay for eye exams. There may be other costs members are responsible for, which is why it's important to have your benefits reviewed before you get started. We're here to help!
EyeMed coverage for glasses
EyeMed benefits for glasses depend on the details of your individual or group plan. Typically, many vision plans with eyeglasses coverage include a frame allowance of around $110-$130 and standard optical lenses. Copays may apply, and there may be discounts available for uncovered items like lens treatments.
EyeMed coverage for contacts
As with eyeglasses, the dollar amount for contact lenses varies based on your specific plan, but typically EyeMed vision benefits can be used for contact lenses or eyeglasses.
EyeMed discounts
When using an in-network EyeMed provider, members are eligible for additional savings on vision care including:
- 20% discount on any products not covered in the plan, including non-prescription sunglasses & accessories.
- 20% off the frame overage.
- 40% off the total price of additional pairs of glasses after initial benefits have been used, or 20% off frame and lens only.
Does EyeMed cover prescription sunglasses?
The cost of prescription sunglasses may be partly covered by your EyeMed Vision Care plan. To find out if your coverage extends to prescription sunglasses (and details about any copays or discounts that may apply) just give us a call. We’ll handle the rest!
