Coronavirus update: What are we doing?
Astorino Eye Center has a simple mission statement: to provide the best eye care services to our patients. While we are first and foremost in the business of saving sight, we are also here to protect the health of our patients, Orange County residents and staff. This means we have had to take proactive measures in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The situation is very fluid, and currently we remain open as of 3/16/2020.
Below details what we have done in the office for your protection:
- All patients of Dr Astorino and Dr Ho over the age of 65 are being called to have their appointments rescheduled. This is under the instruction of the governor of California.
- If these appointments are deemed urgent we will provide an exception where possible.
- If you have not been called, are immuno-compromised, or feel sick (even slight cough) then please consider calling us to cancel.
- Our staff are all wearing masks and gloves to help prevent the spread to each other, our patients, and others. They are also washing their hands with soap and liberally using hand sanitizer.
- Our staff have also been instructed not to come into work if they are feeling unwell.
- We have removed half the chairs from our waiting room, and positioned the ones which are left at least 6 feet apart.
- Our optical department is currently open as normal, but with a box to deposit frames which have been taken from the wall so they can be cleaned and disinfected.
- Anybody with an outstanding optical order ready for pickup may call David at 949-645-2250 to discuss mailing them for a fee of $7.50 (what it costs us to ship).
- You may check back here for updates in regard to any possible closure or resumption of normal service.
We really do hope that normal service can resume shortly. We thank you for your patience in these trying times.
